Explanation

After electric power, nutrients are the second largest expense in operating a calorie fountain, and while it's not huge, in the context of low income families, it's still significant enough to be worth trying to reduce.

(As discussed in Targetoperatingcosts, a 12.5kg powdered fertilizer kit can supply nutrients for appx $35/m.)

Success conditions

  • This target will be deemed a success if a practical and realistic method can be found to deliver the same nutrient profile as described in Targetoperatingcosts for $26CDN or less per month. (That's 25% cheaper.)
