Preliminary research conducted under Target Sanity Check has now concluded and released a table of potential crops that appear to have high caloric power. This primary purpose of this table is to help focus the next stage of my research, but it might also be of interest to anyone trying to choose crops for their own projects.
Yes, you're in the right place. Unfortunately, the project is just getting started so I don't have full results to share yet.
For now, you'll have to make do with the table (above) of crops I examined during my initial proof-of-concept investigation, and the Caloric Power calculation for each.
